<\/span>The president of the upcoming March for Life was effusive in her praise for President Donald Trump in a recent interview, saying he has \u201cdone more for the pro-life movement than any president.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jeanne Mancini, president of the March for Life, told the Daily Signal, \u201cIn terms of really creating pro-life policy, I would agree he has done more for the pro-life movement than any president when it comes to enacting policy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mancini has a point. President Trump, who initially caused doubts among some pro-lifers, has shown himself to be an advocate for unborn babies, their mothers and pro-life advocates.<\/p>\n

The Republican president faces a crowded Democratic field of candidates who have pledged to support abortion on demand and to force taxpayers to pay for them. Many of the leading contenders also voted against a bill to protect newborns from infanticide<\/a>. And for many Americans, Trump\u2019s pro-life record is one of their primary reasons for supporting him.<\/p>\n

Because of my job, I have to just start by talking about the March for Life. Prior to the Trump administration, we never had a president or vice president of the United States come to the march. In fact, a speech writer once told me, and this was a former speech writer, that presidents were counseled to go to Camp David around the time of the March for Life because they didn\u2019t want to be photoed with some graphic images or something like that.<\/p>\n

So \u2026 there\u2019s almost been a real fear at top levels to associate with something this important. And we\u2019ve seen the opposite from this White House. And it\u2019s been incredible.<\/p>\n

I will never, ever, ever forget one week after being inaugurated, there was the vice president in person at the March for Life and Kellyanne Conway, who ran a successful campaign. And that was, again, the first time.<\/p>\n

It was a historic moment because it was the first time ever in the history of a March [for Life] that a standing vice president had come and spoken in person.<\/p>\n

Then the following year, President Trump addressed the marchers about a mile away from the rally. So he was in the Rose Garden and there were a couple hundred young people there in the Rose Garden with him on big jumbotrons at the rally\u2019s site. We broadcast that live and that was very exciting.<\/p>\n

Last year, again, we had Mrs. [Karen] Pence and the vice president. So it\u2019s just been incredible to have that level of support from the administration.<\/p>\n

But in terms of amazing policies that they\u2019ve enacted\u2014gosh, there\u2019s been so much. One of my personal favorites is the Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance policy that had been formerly called the Mexico City policy, but that\u2019s been reinstated and broadened.<\/p>\n

Another favorite, of course, would be Supreme Court appointments, nominations and confirmations of both Justice [Neil] Gorsuch and [Justice Brett] Kavanaugh.<\/p>\n

And then all of the excellent judicial nominations that are going to be at the appeals court and the district court, I think there have been over 218 of those. I don\u2019t have the number right in front of me, but it\u2019s high.<\/p>\n

Returning Title 10 funding decisions to the state, launching an investigation into Planned Parenthood. I mean, again and again, there have been so many really, really great things.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In one of his first acts as president, Trump reinstated and expanded the Mexico City Policy<\/a>, which prohibits taxpayer funding to groups that promote or provide abortions overseas. The change defunded Planned Parenthood\u2019s international arm<\/a> of about $100 million in U.S. tax dollars.<\/p>\n

Trump has repeatedly called out the Democratic Party\u2019s extreme position on abortion. During his state of the union address this year, Trump slammed the governors of New York and Virginia for promoting abortion up to birth and infanticide<\/a>. He also called for Congress to pass a ban on late-term abortions on babies who are capable of feeling pain.<\/p>\n

Trump and his administration have made a number of changes to protect those who morally object to abortions, expanding conscience protections<\/a> for medical workers who believe it is wrong to kill an unborn baby and increasing religious exemptions for Obamacare<\/a>.<\/p>\n

His administration also intervened to stop the United Nations from supporting abortion in a resolution about sexual violence. In 2018, under his leadership, the State Department removed references<\/a> to the so-called \u201cright\u201d to abort an unborn baby from a global human rights report as well.<\/p>\n

This spring, the administration also finalized a new Title X rule<\/a> that requires health care entities to completely separate abortion from their taxpayer-funded services. Planned Parenthood, which already has said it will not comply<\/a>, could lose about $60 million annually through the policy change. However, the abortion group is suing to block the cuts.<\/p>\n

Trump has appointed dozens of conservative judges to federal courts as well, including two to the U.S. Supreme Court.<\/p>\n
