Moto 360 First Impressions

Like many other geeks out there I was totally excited when Google announced Android Wear and the Moto 360 was first seen. I also ordered my Moto 360 as soon as I could and it arrived Monday (yesterday). Except for charging and sleeping, I’ve spent about 8 hours playing with my new gadget and here some of my first impressions of the Moto 360.

Gorgeous! It feels great on my wrist and to the touch! It is a quality build, it is light, and despite the low resolution the screen is beautiful! The watchfaces are great and I really like Android Wear.

With that said, I think I will be returning my Moto 360. Why? Cost vs value. I don’t think the $250 that the watch costs translates into value for me. I always have my phone – a Moto X – in my hand so the need to see my notifications and act on them on a device like a watch just isn’t there. $99 would be a no brainer – so I am really looking forward to seeing Android Wear mature!

Comment on battery life: not great! I worry that it may not make it through the day. I plan on keeping it for a few days and see just what the battery life (for me) is.
